Julie G

Hey all! I have a short, but sweet post for you tonight!

Today, I tried out Julie G Shark's Cove. Kind of disappointed that I didn't find this before Shark Week, but there's always next year! This is a mint polish with a silvery shimmer and I have to say - I really like it!

Check it out!

These pictures are of 3 coats of Shark's Cove. I thought the polish had a good formula and was easy to apply. I also give credit to the small brush for that as well. I know a lot of people hate them, but I LOVE smaller brushes...that's why I'm obsessed with mini polishes. :) Maybe it's just the width of my nails? Who knows!

I got this polish at Rite Aid for $3.99. I have to say - I am OBSESSED with the nail bars in Rite Aids. I literally can't go in one without buying polish. Like a moth to a flame! Haha.

Do y'all have any Julie G polishes you love or would like to see on my blog? Let me know!

Orly Epix

Hey all! How's it going?! Sadly, I haven't posted on my blog in over a year. I have been sporadically posting on my Facebook and Instagram, but life has just gotten in the way of the blog. Good news is that I'm trying to get back in the swing of things! Whoop!

Today, my post is about my first experience with Orly Epix polish. It's supposed to dry quickly, along with being more flexible to prevent chipping. The claim is that is can last up to a week and instructions suggest that you reapply the topcoat on day 3. I have for you my before and after picture and my overall review!

The two colors I chose are "Call My Agent" - a light pink creme polish; and "Special Effects" - a gold polish with a holo shimmer. I really liked both colors after application, but I LOVED the gold.

Before:

The instructions suggest two coats of polish, followed by one coat of the topcoat. I actually had to do 3 coats of the pink in order to get full coverage. However, the gold was easily applied in two coats. Both did try fairly quickly.

After:

Alright, so the above photo is after 4 days. I would have waited a bit longer, but you know I can't stand to have the same polish on for too long! As you can see, there is some drying and cracking on my index finger. I also have the slightest chip on the corner of my middle finger (just happened today). Disclaimer: I did not reapply topcoat on day 3 - doing this may have helped the polish not to be so dry! However, the gold polish is still looking perfect!

Here is a side by side:

Overall, I have to say I like this product. It has lasted 4 days with only a little wear and one minor chip. The longevity might have also been improved had I reapplied top coat yesterday, as well. The only issue I really had was having to apply 3 coats of the pink in order for it to be opaque, which caused longer drying time. Although, this is to be expected with brighter nail polish colors. All in all, I liked it and will definitely be trying more colors in the future!

So what do you think? Have you tried it and what was your experience?

OPI Shellac Mani

Hi all!

So sorry it's been a bit since my last post! I had to go out of town for a wedding. So I didn't have to deal with painting my nails, I got a shellac mani before I left. Amazingly, it has actually lasted me almost two weeks with no chipping! Now, I know they say that's how long they can last, but usually within a week I get a couple of small chips. Not with this mani, though. Generally, when I get shellac I always go for OPI products or Gelish, and this one certainly did not disappoint!

Today, I have OPI's Go With The Lava Flow. This is part of their Spring 2015 Collection. I absolutely love it! It is a shimmery red with gold tones and is just super pretty! I usually feel like I need to have an accent nail with my manis, but this one was super shimmery and fun on its own. I have actually enjoyed wearing it for almost two weeks now! The following pictures were taken after a week of wear. Enjoy!

How do y'all like it? It was hard to capture the shimmer in these photos, but it is very vivid in real life!

Easter Mani 2015!

Happy Easter, everybody! I hope you all had a great time spending this special holiday with friends and family!

I just have a quick post for you today - my Easter mani! I decided on wearing Incoco wraps. I absolutely love these! I have worn a few different kinds and they are very durable! I like to change my polish frequently, so I haven't made it two weeks with any of them on yet, but I think they would definitely last the whole time!  The are made of real nail polish and are super easy to apply. The best part is probably the easy removal, though. All you need to regular nail polish and you are good to go!

The following are photos of Dip Dyed from Incoco's Easter collection.

So what do you think?! If you're interested, you can purchase Incoco wraps here!

Fresh Paint Once Upon A Time Collection

Happy Sunday, everyone! Man, I can't believe the weekend always flies by SO quickly! It's hard to believe that tomorrow is already Monday. At least I have The Walking Dead to look forward to tonight. Although, I can't believe it's already the season finale! AMC needs to have their shows last longer!!! :(

Well, today I have another polish brand that is new to me - Fresh Paint. These polishes are sold at Five Below and all have a 3-free formula. The following photos are of the Once Upon A Time Collection *I think*. I bought these a couple of weeks ago and took a picture of the sign, but must have accidentally deleted it off of my phone. Boooo. Check out the photos!

FYI - All of these polishes are shimmery and dry semi-matte, but since I love shiny-ness, all of my pictures have top coat. :)

The first polish up is Enchanted. This polish is a beautiful light pink. It's so girly - I love it! The following photos are of two coats of Enchanted and one coat of Seche Vite.

The second polish I have for you is Hakuna Matata - only named after the best Disney movie, ever! This polish is a dusty orange. Orange is definitely my least favorite color, but I really like it more than expected. The following is two coats of Hakuna Matata and one coat of Seche Vite.

Finally I have Glass Slipper. This is probably my favorite of the three polishes! I just love the light blue! It reminds me a lot of Cinderella by Sinful Colors. I may do a comparison on here the next few days to see. I believe this main difference is that Cinderella actually has pink shimmer, whereas this one has a blue shimmer. Check it out!

So what do y'all think? I really liked these and definitely thought they were worth the money! The formula on all three polishes was good and they were all easily opaque in two coats. You can get these at Five Below - 3 for $5!

BTW, when you have these on you can see the shimmer - especially in the light! It was tricky to catch it on camera.

Color Club Blobbicure

Good evening! Who's happy it's Thursday?! Only one more day until the weekend! Woohoo!

Tonight I have a quick post for you - it's my first blobbicure! For this mani I used Color Club Mod In Manhattan and Pardon My French. These are part of the Color Club Wanderlust Collection, which I will have swatches of very soon! It's safe to say that I loved these colors so much that I wanted to try my first blobbicure with them!

If you've never seen one of these done before, the trick is to put drops of polish on while your base coat is still wet. Just drop the polish directly from the brush and voila! Pretty easy and quick if you're looking for something different to do!

What do ya'll think of the color combo?! I really love it! I can't wait to show you swatches of the whole collection!

March Birchbox

Hello all and happy Tuesday! Glad that everyone survived Monday!!! Today I have for you my monthly Birchbox product review. I just signed up for Birchbox and this is actually the first one I have gotten in and I am definitely already in love! If you have never heard of it, Birchbox ships out once a month ($10 flat rate) and contains samples of five different makeup/beauty products. Your samples are based off of a questionnaire you fill out when signing up to determine what products are best for you. You can also buy full sized products on the website, many of which are exclusive to Birchbox. Points are also accumulated with every purchase (1 point for every $1 spent), and once you get 100 points you can redeem it for $10 on the website! Pretty awesome!

Now for the goods. I am going to start with my least favorite product and end with my favorite!

First up is Brightenup! by Vasanti Cosmetics. This product is supposed to mimic microdermabrasion and leave you with smoother skin. Suggested usage is 3-5 times a week. I will 100% say that this product delivered on what it was supposed to do. My face definitely felt smoother and all around better after using this. The problem was it just hurt my face - plain and simple. It's a rough product and is much like scrub. How it felt while I was using it was enough for me not to order this product in a full size. I'll definitely finish out the rest of my sample, though!

Next is Hello by Harvey Prince. This is described as a perfume with a mixture of citrus and floral notes. It's definitely not a scent I would choose for myself. It is very light, though, so I have been wearing it since I got my box. It doesn't smell bad by any means. It's just not something I would usually choose, but I'll finish it off!

Next is Peace Be Still by Templespa. This is a calming face and body balm. I actually really liked this product! It has a very light scent (I usually go for fruitier smells from Bath & Body Works), but it works like a charm! I have been using it on my hands every morning before work and they feel moisturized all day! I haven't once felt like I needed to reapply lotion throughout the day at all. This one is definitely recommended!

Now I have Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter, which is a luminizing gel. This basically comes in a nail polish bottle and it is suggested that you dab it on your cheeks and eyebrow bones for a nice glow. I absolutely love it! I still use a little blush and dab this right over it, and I have a nice shimmery, sunkissed glow! I think the sample will last me a while, but I will most likely be purchasing a full size when I run out.

And last, but not least is my favorite sample...Beauty Protector. This baby provides heat protection for your hair, smooths hair, detangles, and is a leave-in conditioner. Oh yeah, and it smells AMAZING! The best way I can describe the smell is vanilla. I have been using Pureology 21, which I still love, but will most likely be swapping over to this product. That's mainly because this one is less expensive...and did I mention it smells like vanilla?! I can literally smell it throughout the day. It's a nice, light scent. You will love it!

Overall, I am extremely pleased with my first Birchbox. Were all the products for me? No. But I'm always up for trying new things and they were truly all good products. I just can't wait for my box next month! If you'd like to sign up you can go here!
